Being sedentary can cause many problems, increasing the risk of heart disease, stroke, and even causing depression and anxiety. Sitting for a long period of time not only causes the aforementioned problems, but can also worsen your posture, which leads to neck and back pain.

At O’Keefe Chiropractic Center in Medford, NJ, we provide the services and resources to improve your posture to regain energy, proper circulation, and overall well-being for those who work at a desk or sit throughout the day.

5 Point Posture Checklist

Having proper posture will help with lower and upper back pain, neck pain, and headaches as well. Here is a posture checklist:

  1. Position the top of your computer screen two inches above eye level.
  2. Keep your back flat against the chair.
  3. Bend your knees to 90 degrees.
  4. Don’t cross your legs or ankles - keep feet flat on the ground.
  5. Stand up every hour and stretch.
